Jackson County Literacy Council

June 25, 2016

Here at GreenServ, we are firm believers in giving back to our community. This notion of giving back is rooted in our core values and each month, we are going to do a spotlight on one of the great organizations that our team supports.

The first organization we highlighted was Young Life Oxford.

The second organization we discussed was the Wounded Warrior Project

The next organization we wanted to share with you is the Literacy Council of Jackson County. We love this organization because we understand that a solid foundation of literacy and education will only assist in providing economic stability and improve job skillsets within our community. It is critical that all people are given the fundamentals to succeed.

The mission of the Jackson County Literacy Council is the provide a literacy program for adults with volunteers to tutor basic literacy skills in reading, writing, spelling and math; also to tutor English as a Second Language, adults from other countries so they can learn to speak and understand English.
